Elevating the Asset Recovery Space
Supporting Professionals. Strengthening Trust. Advancing the Asset Recovery Profession.
The Asset Recovery Association of America exists to support qualified professionals and reinforce trust across the Asset Recovery ecosystem. Our services are designed to elevate Asset Recovery Specialists and attorneys as credible, ethical, and reliable partners for claimants, counties, courts, and policymakers.
We do not replace professional judgment or individual practice. We provide the structure, verification, and professional framework that allows qualified professionals to be recognized and trusted.
Professional Recognition and Credibility
ARAA provides Asset Recovery Professionals with a recognized professional identity grounded in verification, standards, and accountability. Membership signals that a professional has met defined requirements related to licensing, registration, insurance, ethical conduct, and contingency-based practice.
This recognition helps Asset Recovery Specialists:
Demonstrate legitimacy to counties and public agencies
Differentiate themselves from unqualified or unvetted actors
Operate with greater confidence in public-facing roles
Build long-term professional standing within the industry
Collaboration and Connection
Asset Recovery often requires lawful, ethical collaboration with licensed attorneys. ARAA supports this collaboration by helping professionals connect with attorneys who understand the Asset Recovery process and are open to working within clearly defined roles.
For Asset Recovery Professionals, this means:
Access to attorneys familiar with probate, real estate, civil, mortgage surplus, and unclaimed property matters
Reduced reliance on informal or unreliable referral channels
Greater confidence in forming ethically sound professional partnerships
Acting as a Trusted Resource for Counties
ARAA also serves as a resource for counties and public institutions seeking reliable points of reference when third-party claims assistance is permitted.
By maintaining verified directories and professional standards, ARAA offers counties:
A trusted source for identifying qualified professionals
Confidence that listed members have met baseline requirements
Reduced exposure to unqualified or unethical operators
This function supports counties in protecting their residents while allowing legitimate claims assistance to proceed responsibly.
Visibility Through Verified Professional Directories
ARAA maintains directories of verified Asset Recovery Professionals that serve as a reference point for:
Counties and local governments
Courts and public institutions
Attorneys seeking qualified collaboration partners
Directory inclusion allows professionals to be identified as members who have committed to ethical standards and professional accountability, making it easier for counties to refer claimants to trusted assistance when third-party representation is permitted.
Connection to Qualified Asset Recovery Professionals
ARAA provides access to a network of Asset Recovery Professionals who have been verified, adhere to ethical standards, and professional readiness.
This allows attorneys to:
Identify collaborators who understand claims preparation and procedural requirements
Work with professionals who respect professional boundaries
Reduce time spent vetting unverified third parties
Engage in clearer, more efficient collaboration models

Supporting Trust With Counties and Policymakers
ARAA acts as a professional bridge between Asset Recovery practitioners and public institutions.
Through our standards, verification processes, and professional positioning, we help Asset Recovery Specialists demonstrate that they:
Respect government procedures and safeguards
Understand documentation and entitlement requirements
Protect claimant information and public interests
Reduce institutional risk rather than increase it
This positioning supports constructive relationships with local governments and policymakers, reinforcing Asset Recovery as a legitimate, service-driven profession.
Policy Advocacy and Education
The Asset Recovery Association of America represents the Asset Recovery industry in policy discussions that affect how recovery work is regulated, administered, and understood. The Association provides an informed voice for professionals who work directly with claimants, courts, and public institutions.
ARAA engages with lawmakers, policymakers, and local and state government officials to educate them on Asset Recovery practices, professional standards, and the real world impact of policy decisions. Advocacy efforts are grounded in practitioner experience and focused on policies that protect claimants, support ethical professionals, and promote efficient, transparent public processes.
Through education and advocacy, ARAA works to ensure that Asset Recovery policy is fair, practical, and aligned with the public interest.
Strengthening the Profession as a Whole
At its core, ARAA’s services are designed to strengthen Asset Recovery as a profession.
